One more thing

I love the way you are writing your thoughts addressed to Jan. Jan enjoys listening to them. I imagine this is like contiuing the conversations you have with her when you visit.

Jan continues her progress. Her achievements of today are:

- She is walking with more balance and strength. Today we took a walk without the walker (at her request) around the unit. The nurses were all cheering her, and encouraging to keep up the effort. She enjoyed all the attention.

-From a booklet used by the speech therapist, she showed me a page with the numbres 1 to 10. She read them all in English and French! (with some hesitation in six and seven), then proceeded to the following pages where she could identify most of the parts of the body, traffic signs and other labels.

-Her speech is clearer, but gets garbled in the third or fourth sentence. She mixes words still, but now she is aware that she is making a mistake.

-For the first time, when the nurse asked her: who is this man? Do you know him? She replied: He is my husband. This is a great improvement from the random words used last week.

She is doing great! But please remember that she is just beginning the long process of rehabilitation. Keep up your blogs and visits. God bless.

-Fede

Jan!

Great to see you yesterday. Yes, the pictures of Kelly were pretty funny...she's just not the postal worker type y'know?

I know that communication is so important to you. Good work to get the words out that you needed to say last night. Keep it up.

The soup (my very tasty homemade pea soup) will come tomorrow - not today. I'm keen to know whether my cooking is on par or above the hospital food! LOL

My prayer for you today is "Faithful is he who called you who also will do it." Jan, remember the vision God has given you for transforming people's lives through your teaching. His gifts and callings are without revoke. Whatever challenges lie ahead of you, you will fulfill God's calling on your life.

Hugs and soup to follow. :)

Jan,
to GOD be the glory for your journey. He has allowed others to be inspired by you. My daily ritual is to check the Jan-mail before the email. I look forward to finding out what God inspired in you each day. 2Corinthians 5:7 says that 'we live our life by faith, and not by sight.' And you are truly a shining example of this. I know through prayer and thanksgiving for life that He continues to heal you. You have been on our weekly prayer meetings and intercessory prayer now since the beginning of this journey. Your true colours of faith are shining through, and i look forward to visiting with you soon.
Love to you from all of us in the north.

Dearest Jan,

I am very inspired by your awareness of your communications. I see this as a positive opportunity for more progress forward.

One of this things that I have always been inspired by you is how beautifully and honestly you communicate. I am confident that you will gradually improve more & more. I know it seems like a never-ending road but God is with you. I trust that he is guiding you & giving you wisdom, patience & grace everyday.

Today I remember how we used to pray together when we lived together at "Shaver" and on the phone. I felt so much warmth, love and strength when you prayed. I look forward to praying together again with you. I love you so much my sister & I miss you alot!!

Today my prayer from you is from psalm 139:

O Lord, you searched me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; (God knows Jan when you walk & talk & is with you)
you perceive my thoughts from afar. (Jan, I know your thoughts are coming from God)
You discern my going out & my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word in on my tongue
you know it completely, O Lord.

You hem in -behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.
too lofty for me to attain.

where can I go from your spirit?
Where can Iflee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there you hand will guide me, (Jan I know God is with you everyday and guiding you & showing his light)
your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Jan you are definitely a STAR shining bright more & more each day!!!!

I love you & miss you alot!

Hey Jan!
It was fun to see you and Fede for a quick visit tonight! You have made so much progress since before the March Break, way to go!!!!

Wasn't it was beautiful to watch Marianna dance "Shine Jesus Shine?"

Praise God for all of the healing so far and may God continue to support you in his loving arms.

We pray especially for your ability to find the words that you want and to express your thoughts effectively and efficiently. We pray for us to be patient when you are attempting to communicate with us. Forgive us when we attempt to repair communication breakdowns and get it wrong, it must be so frustrating. We ask God for more grace and more love and more understanding.

We thank God for all of your progress and for the loving family and community that supports and surrounds you.

In Jesus name we pray, AMEN

Hi Jan! I thought you'd enjoy this rare bit of Ren & Stimpy Footage!!
You could say this gives new meaning to the phrase "Intense Navel-Gazing!"
